Pollinator Sanctuary & Training Facility of Defiance County

Pollinator Sanctuary & Training Facility of Defiance County

The Pollinator Sanctuary & Training Facility of Defiance County was created by members of the Black Swamp Beekeepers Association. In June 2018, the Pollinator Sanctuary became it’s own 501(c)(3) and has its own Board of Directors that maintain and operate the facility.

The public is welcome to stroll around the sanctuary. We will have beekeepers there on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 12:00 pm till 3:00 pm. They will be there to show you frames of honeybees that you can view through the 4 – 4’ x 6’ viewing windows. For those that are more courageous, we will supply a veil and gloves for those who would like to get an up-close view (with a signed waiver of liability).
